Ukraine Refugees Diary Entry 2022

Today, my mum told me were going on a holiday to Germany. But lately, I’ve been hearing screaming and crying around the city. I almost hear it everyday, sometimes I get scared and I sometimes get nightmares about it, I feel like my mum is hiding something. My dad said he will go out to buy the milk today but I heard a lot of rumors at school that men around the whole country will go out for some war, I was worried about my dad after going home but tomorrow is when we go to Germany. Today was the day that we will go to Germany, Frankfurt but my dad wasn’t here yet. My mom said she would catch up with us when we arrive, hopefully she told the truth.

High Diving Giraffes

Clip Clop, Clip Clop, My friend, Nino was moving left to right in front of me. He stretched his long neck trying to lick the camera on the top corner that was examining our every move through this strange tiled room. I didn’t mind it much and just moved on with the crowd moving in a single file line like soldiers through this confusing hallway feeling like it’s a lucid dream.

We stopped and stood still. Nino was first in line. I was lucky enough to be second to watch what he would do. He sprinted filled with motion until he dropped down and away from my view. I took a little peek to see where he had gone. Nino had dropped into a large swimming pool below the diving board. I was nervous. I’m next in line. I try to be brave to clear my mind. I see my other friend, Julio, dangling down from the grey ceiling so we can grab onto him. I sprinted and sprinted leaping forward, I was more excited than nervous. I feel the cold wind on my face and grab onto Julio, dangling to drop more smoothly. I see the reflection of myself falling into the crystal water filled with strong smelling chlorine. I splash into the water, hearing air bubbles and muffled breathing through my ears.

I arise out of the water and swim to the surface, feeling refreshed and new. I didn’t feel scared and nervous anymore but only filled with excitement. I felt like doing the jump again and again. I run to catch up with my friends lining up with them. We walk to the pool once more and bend over and reach out at the same time drinking the pool water. Even though the water has chlorine in it, I was too exhausted to care and just wanted to go home.

My Treasure

As an attack from missiles approach, I snatch my basketball that my dad gave me and ran! Somehow it felt important to me to take it and I would feel disappointed not to.

It most likely felt important to me because of the times and memories I had with the ball that made me calm for any situation.

Peter’s Perspective

As I look back, I see the smoke building up, the jets soaring through the sky and our town’s houses collapsing to the ground. It haunts me to know that we have to evacuate and makes me realise that we will end up homeless. As we move on, I clear my head but I still see the corpses stacking up and the smell of electrical fire.

Day into night and the people are starting to fight. Chaos starts as our country’s conflict still plays on. We still find a place to rest but it seems everywhere is possessed. I must go now, Goodnight.

Stalag Luft III

This Google Drawing shows the famous historical camp “Stalag Luft III” and Johnny Pohe’s escape through the camp. The red lines follow the three escape plans named Tom, Dick and Harry.

A lot of people and some movies have described this escape, one of the most famous movies to do so was ”The Great Escape”.

Adventures Of A Hairclip

Adventures Of A Hairclip

Hello! This short story was made from my group and the story is based on Mophead by Selina Tusitala Marsh. The story was based on her childhood and how hard it was to have hair like a mop. Our short story was directed to a hair clip’s POV and it’s adventures through her hair.

As I drop in, my sights of the heavens turns dim obsidian. My view is still dark and blank, but I move on to search for light through this disorganised maze. Nothing to be seen yet, I start to question where I even am. Still nothing is to be found and seen, my fate will be decided sooner than enough.
